From Gavin
Woken early by the intermitent showers pounding off the tent.
Departed Knoydart at 08.20hrs in a SE F3-4 with frequent showers.
By 10.30 we had reached the Sandaig Isles, the wind had dropped to a whisper but the rain had set in good and proper.
Headed from there up through a benign Kyle Rea stopping to chat to a couple of groups from the symposium who were also out enjoying the weather.
Stopped for lunch just North of the ferry as the rain reached monsoon status.
As we passed Kyle of Lochalsh and reached the Black Isles the rain was joined by a frontal wind system which brought it round to N/NW F5 making the trip across the remaining 6km to Applecross very hard going indeed.
We were extremely pleased to reach the relative comfort of the MBA nothy at Uags and an opportunity to dry out kit overnight.
Total distance travelled today was 38km and 55km overall total so far.
